In order to transfer ownership of a Vercel Team to another Vercel user, you will need to add the other user with the **role** [**Owner**](https://vercel.com/docs/accounts/team-members-and-roles/access-roles#owner-role) on the Vercel team. Once the newly promoted user is successfully an **Owner** on the team, that user can freely remove the original **Owner** or demote the original **Owner** to a [**Member**](https://vercel.com/docs/accounts/team-members-and-roles/access-roles#member-role).

> **Important Note for Pro Trial Users**: If your team is currently on a Pro Trial plan, please be aware that there is a limit of one Owner per team. Therefore, you cannot promote another user to Owner during the trial. Instead, you will need to demote yourself to a Member after transferring ownership responsibilities to the new Owner. This ensures compliance with the Pro Trial limitations.
